Karma
Yesterday a friend of mine, LP, asked me how I knew my husband had become the one I would marry. I hurriedly gave her a cliched answer of mutual respect, shared values, yada yada yada blah blah blah.
That night it came to me that I never mentioned the word love. I disseminated the practical reasons, but not the intangible, abstract construct of love.
As I thought about it I came the realisation that what tipped me over into the land of love was karma, DH showered me with so many thoughtful gestures and acts of kindness. Demonstrating his love for me in a solid form. I could not help but reciprocate and as such looked round one day and realised that this man who had made me the center of his world had become the center of mine.
You see karma is real, how you treat people ALWAYS rebounds on you.
This is why 11 years after our first meeting, I get excited when I know DH is on his way home after a long day, why when I buy a new outfit his opinion is the one that really matters and when I see his face replicated in that of our daughters, I smile.
