I think Halle looks great in both pics but judging that the pic on the right was taken after the pic on the left . I personally belive Spanx or something similar were involved in the outfit on the right. As I mentioned here if it wasn’t for Spanx I would of stayed home the first year of giving birth.

My goal in life, is to give my two girls a positive self image. The above books are an important tool in aiding DH and myself as parents to achieve this.

All of them get their respective messages across in a light hearted manner without preaching. Sisi and Skaska love them.

If you are interested in healthy hair, and if you’re not, you should be. Check out Healthy Textures it’s the reason why I have not used direct heat in the past 8 months and my hair is thanking me for it.

LM and I have a small business offering affordable event planning, called A&l occasions. It has been a good outlet of expression, since I have been at home with the children. Helping me to avoid my brain freezing up.

Above is a sweet 18 party we did a few months ago.

Estelle’s Time To Shine

I was browsing Afrobella when  I came across this piece and I realised that nothing that I would write would come close to illuminating my readers to the eclectic brilliance that is Estelle.

If you haven’t got a copy of her new album Shine, what are you waiting for.

I have never been to a music festival before, but I am seriously contemplating attending the V festival because she will be performing. Until then I will have to keep repeating Shine on my ipod especially Substitute Lover with the old Half Pint sample.  After watching Estelle perform it on Later with Jools Holland, it has become Sisi’s  new favourite song.

Control

After I had my second baby one year and ten days after the first, oh and by the way both Cesarean births. Spanx became my best friend.

Without this brilliant range of control wear, I would of probably of never left the house.

In this age of the yummy mummy who magically springs back into shape as soon as she leaves the hospital.

Some of us need a little help, this is where Spanx come in.

I took my three week old baby to Harrods to buy the shaping body suit on the left not realising in my post-partum fug that I could of bought it online.

The thing with Spanx is that the excess flesh is held rigid by the elasticated bands of fabric and there is no overspill. So you can achieve a clean smooth line and still feel relatively comfortable. I wouldn’t supersize a MacDonald’s, but normal eating should hold no fear.

After 18 months of wearing mine, I have started to wean my self off, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again if the outfit demanded it.

Framing The Face

By now we all know that a sculpted brow is the easy way to update your look and appear polished with the minimum of effort.

Whilst browsing in Primark one day, I came across their eyebrow kit which was on sale for the princely sum of £1.00. Keep in mind I normally buy the YSL Eyebrow enhancer duo which retails for £20.00.

So with low expectations I bought one.

I was more than pleasantly surprised. The pencil is waxy but does not appear shiny when applied. The dark brown is a perfect match for my sparse brows and the little brush on the cap helps to achieve the perfect shape.  The gel that comes alongside the pencil is a waste of time in my opinion, there was no discernable difference after using it.  I presume it is meant to fix the pencil, but it’s texture is to watery to achieve this.  The next time I buy it, the gel will go straight in the bin, but the pencil is a keeper.

My friend LM  offered to do some before and after shots using just the pencil .
